I HATE Doctors!!!

Can I just say how much I HATE having to go see doctors? They are here for a reason, I know that from first hand knowledge. Still it is annoying to have to see them all of the time!! I have a prescription that was written by one doctor, and a few years later another doctor changed the dosage and took over on the refills. Now that I am seeing another doctor, this one wants to stop prescribing it all together! One problem, the first doctor says I still need it for the original problem. So I have now seen 2 doctors in 2 days just to get a refill on a script! Talk about annoying, they know I need it won't fill it unless I go and see the doctor again! I just saw him in December, and have to see him again in a couple of months, but now I have to add another appointment in between for a darn script refill. I think they are just trying to fund a new house or car and want me to help!!!!! ANNOYING!!!!

Hospitals and marbles and fun, ohh my!!!

So I was convinced to do this facebook thing and ohhhh my goodness how addicting it can be!!!!! I spend way to much time on it looking for friends and family members. I will say that it is good to find some of the friends from the old ward and talk to them! Now onto funnier and WEIRDER news. First, a question to all of those parents out there. Do six year old children have brains, and do they use them at home or only in kindergarten? Now, the reason I ask is this. Today my 6 year old son justin was lying with me on the couch downstairs watching his cartoons and patiently waiting for lunch,(at 10:30 in the morning, and after downing several bowls of cereal) when he started making a choking sound! I immediately jumped up to see what was wrong and he started to cry. I asked him what happened and he told me, "I put the metal ball from my magnetics set in my mouth and I accidentally swallowed it!!" My wife and I started to get quite anxious and hurriedly called our pediatricians office and they told us to take him to the insta-care and get his stomach x-rayed. The reason? To make sure it didn't get hung up anywhere on its way out the other end!!! Now I thought that the insta-care would be quite slow at this hour of the day, boy was I WRONG!! Two and a half hours later the printed out his x-ray so I could finally see what $500.00 dollars really looks like!! Just kidding, sort of, I don't know how much it will cost but it sounds pretty close don't ya think?? I tried not to get to upset, especially since this lovely, expensive ball had already moved into his small intestine and was already working it's way out and he seemed none the worse for wear. I asked him why it was in his mouth too begin with, especially since he had this set since he was 4 and d never tried this stunt before, and his answer? " I liked the taste of the metal!!" I have never heard of this before and had to really try hard not to laugh out loud, especially since I wanted to just strangle him, but the little stinker is just too cute and he knows it. Therein lies the problem!! I will give him some credit though, he didn't worry about it too long, he went to Jiu-Jitsu and I told his coach about the situation and that justin wanted him to go kind of easy on him, he said no problem. I went back about 20 minutes later too watch, and much to my amazement he had already earned his second stripe on his white belt. It is so amazing because he had been trying for several lessons to earn this, and to have it happen today really surprised me. I asked the coach what happened and he told me that he was going kind of easy and justin was going hard. He told justin that they should be careful so nothing bad would happen and justin replied that he didn't care and kept wrestling hard and passed off his stripe!!! I was very happy for him though. For those of you not familiar with the sport, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu doesn't just have different colors of belt as in other martial-arts, there is several levels to be earned along with each color of belt. It can literally take years to earn a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, especially if you can't do it every day! So it was a scary, and wonderful day all around, thank goodness!!

SCARY!!!

Well I haven't updated a health blog for awhile so here goes, my diabetes has been going a little bad over the holidays so the doctor had me up one of my insulin shot doses. This is no fun because I already take a minimum of 5 shots a day and increasing the dosage makes them hurt that much more, but we all do what we have to right??? Then to make things more scary, Saturday day night I was having some weird pains in my chest, of course this was happening at around 10 o'clock at night, Trish asked if I wanted to go to the hospital and I of course said NO WAY!!! I HATE emergency rooms, especially at night. The usually aren't much help in my situations because the have to communicate with my specialist doctor and they don't like another doctor telling them what to do!!! So I just toughed it out, and of course didn't get to sleep till around 3 a.m. because I was a little worried not noing what was happening to me, and hoping I wasn't being stupid by not going to the hospital!!! I did finally get some sleep till about 7 a.m. When I woke up the pain was gone, but I had the worst stomach ache in the world. So I stayed home from church, with jarod not feeling well either, and slept till about 10 a.m. I did feel better though and I was glad I didn't spend the night in the E.R. So there is the most current update on me and my health at least for now at 1:30 a.m. Monday morning. I apologize if the doesn't make sense to anyone, I am finally tired and I should have waited till later to post this!!!! OH WELL!!!
