What was I THINKING??
O.K. so here we go again, in my last post I talked about helping my dad's teaching friend do some work on her house. I get a call on Monday from trisha's cousin and he needs help putting in a couple of phone jacks in his existing rooms on his house! I went and looked at the job and thought that with his and my father in laws help it wouldn't be to hard. I FORGOT to look in the attic that I would have to spend a few minutes(or so I thought) in!! So Tuesday we get started on the job. It turns out that the way the roof was framed on his split level house did not allow me total access to the existing wall where the phone jack we would be feeding from was. So after a more than a few minutes laying across rafters in 12 inch deep insulation breathing through a mask, and after cutting a few holes in his wall we got it done. Doesn't sound to bad does it? It wouldn't have been if I weren't sick. J.K. it sucked no matter what. While spending my lovely morning in the attic, I was lucky to pop some more muscles loose around my ribs. That sure makes breathing through a mask that much harder let me tell you. Oh well, if he weren't such a great cousin I probably wouldn't have done it at all. At least that's what I tell myself, sometimes I think that I am too much of a pushover. Then Trish reminds me that we always help others because so many have helped us over the last 5 years, not always the same people that we help back in return, but that is not the point. My wife is very good about reminding me of these things in the weeks it takes me to recover from some of these jobs, and even though I might moan and groan during the recovery, I know that we are doing the right thing by helping others. I hope everyone remembers that during these hard times and tries to help others, even if it is just with time, and knowledge about things they might need help with. Pass it on right!!!
